We are a new group with the ambition to fill a void in the heritage railway scene. Our aim is to build an M&GN locomotive to represent the history of the railway company, but more importantly, build a locomotive which is suitable for the needs of Britain's heritage railways in the 21st Century.

Painting, Midland & Great Northern Joint Railway 4-4-0 locomotive number 5, oil on hardboard by Cuthbert Hamilton Ellis, about 1935 to 1968. Depicts the artist's impression of the Midland & Great Northern Joint Railway 4-4-0 locomotive number 5 hauling a passenger train of teak carriages on a single track line in Norfolk, probably in the period 1911 to 1920. The train is crossing a bridge over a culvert or track, and in the background is the North Sea. Signed by the artist at bottom right.
